The Vertex Axis: A Special Doorway
The Vertex axis is not an especially strong point in a natal chart unless it has a planet or Node conjunct it or in close to exact aspect with it. http://www.noeltyl.com
The Vertex swings like a pendulum that has the Ascendant as its fixed point.
The Vertex only swings through the Western, or right side of the astrological chart.
The Vertex rises and falls at the Sun setting part of the astrological chart, the Descendant.
Considering the Vertex in the Natal Chart
What is the vertex? The vertex is a theoretical point in the heavens where the ecliptic-the apparent orbit of the Sun around the earth-crosses the prime vertical-the plane that runs at right angles to the meridian and divides the celestial sphere from front to back. Already, it sounds fishy. A theoretical point?
The Vertex
The Vertex has a reputation for being a “woo-woo” fated relationship point. That idea never rang true to me. In this article, it would seem to have more to do with calling and career. Mine’s Gemini, and that certainly seems to fit the work I do and this website! What’s yours? Leave your comment at the end of the article
The Vertex as a Functional Chart Point
Interest in the Vertex by astrologers was widespread in the 1970s, and various interpretations were ascribed to it; unfortunately most of them were rather abstract and not easy to connect with consensus reality and therefore not readily verifiable.
Vertex - Destiny's Gate
The Vertex - I like to call the Vertex "Destiny's Gate"... According to the dictionary, a Vertex is "the summit, the highest point reached in the apparent motion of a celestial body or other points. Taken from the Latin - vertere, meaning 'to turn.'
"Cafe Astrology was conceived by Annie Heese and Adam Banks. Annie and Adam are good friends, brought together by a common interest in Astrology and a love for spending long afternoons musing, dreaming, and exchanging ideas. They share the same Ascendant and Moon signs."
